Travel sick

Journeys on the road continue to plague a couple of Yorkshire’s sides and seem to prevent them from stringing a good run of form together.

Doncaster Rovers fans will be happy for the first time this season after their victory over Plymouth.

Leeds United have lost seven of their last nine away games after the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Tranmere. The only positive to come out of this game for Leeds fans must be the bicycle kick goal from Enoch Showunmi which gave them the lead.

Rotherham’s recent poor form continued as they slipped to a defeat at Shrewsbury. The result now sees them slip to the bottom of the Yorkshire form league.

In the Championship  Sheffield United lost 3-2 at home to a spirited Burnley side and Barnsley went down 1-0 to Reading at Oakwell.

York City also lost under new manager Martin Foyle 1-0 to Grays Athletic.

On a more positive note Hull City recorded a victory for the first time in six games after coming from behind against fellow Yorkshire outfit Middlesbrough. A Marlon King penalty sealed the 2-1 victory for Phil Brown’s side.

Doncaster Rovers continued their good run of form and moved off the bottom of the table with a 1-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Sheffield Wednesday stole a late point at Southampton thanks to Marcus Tudgay’s late equalizer in a 1-1 draw.

In League 1 Huddersfield chalked up another victory thanks to yet another late goal this time from midfielder Michael Collins in a 2-1 victory against Walsall and Bradford were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Dagenham in League 2.
